Roshni Prabhu is the Women of Colour in the Public Sector Network (WOCPSN) incoming Co-Chair. Roshni is Senior Advisor Engagement at Maritime New Zealand. She was born in Cochin, India but never lived there. She grew up in Singapore. In 2012, she migrated from Singapore to Wellington, New Zealand, where she has lived ever since. Education, work and life has taken her to more than 20 countries around the world, which has enriched her understanding of different cultures and ways of life. Roshni Prabhu's story is one of resilience, optimism and dedication to making a difference.
Afnan Rubayee the Women of Colour in the Public Sector Network (WOCPSN) incoming Co-Chair. She is a Senior Advisor, Refugee & Migrant Services, Immigration New Zealand (INZ). She came to New Zealand in 2003 as a refugee under the Refugee Quota Pathway. Her life has been shaped by her experiences and the connections she has built within her community, and is driven by a passion for learning, advocacy, and making a positive impact. Afnan’s journey is a testament to resilience, service leadership, ongoing learning and the power of community.
Abeer Makki born and raised between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. She moved to Aotearoa New Zealand more than six years ago with her husband and two children. Abeer has a degree in Engineering, is pursuing an MBA at Massey University, and excels as a Senior Service Manager. Abeer’s journey is a testament to resilience, growth, the power of embracing diversity, and living authentically.
Dr. Samira Ghoreishi is a Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Social Development, with a PhD in Politics and International Relations. She advocates for women’s rights and co-leads the WOCPSN Advocacy Team. Originally from Iran, she has lived in New Zealand for over 11 years with her family. Samira draws inspiration from her parents, who instilled values of compassion, resistance, and resilience.
